Sound Transit crossing the Salmon Bay Drawbridge

  • Media owner BobH

On weekday evenings there's a lot of activity on the Salmon Bay Bridge. Amtrak's Empire Builder heads north, and Sounder runs trains evey 1/2 hour. Add a freight train or two, and this can be a busy stretch of railroad, much to the dismay of boaters who want the bridge raised. In this photo, Sounder train 1706 heads north to Everett with a trainload of commuters. It's a Friday night, and many of them are probably looking forward to more of this great weather on the weekend.
