I am looking forward to those milk-way shots and to find out how you do them. I got a cheap timer gadget that can control my Nikon but haven't really produced anything interesting with it.

I lived in Pullman as a kid and I remember Steptoe Butte and hot summer days. But when we were in Pullman a few Mays ago there was horizontal rain not far from freezing.

A "light painting". My shooting buddy held a large incadenscent flashlight off to the left and then "painted" the tree with light - the exposure was approximately 15 seconds.

I like the slight blurring of the waves, just enough to provide a feel of movement. Its interesting how the mist lights up in front of the larger island.

I am going to have 7 to 10 days in the Canadian Rockies coming from Victoria, BC to travel around in a truck/camper.
I know the area a bit but was wondering if you folks had a few "must shoot" spots, especially ones out of the way a bit. Unfortunately I can't hike like I used to, but 4 to 5...
