i can't stand an empty forum, so here are a couple of bird pics to get things started... i do a lot of bird photography, chiefly because there are places very close to home where i can get lots of good bird shots, and i can afford to get out and shoot something even if i only have a couple of hours...
this is a Bewick's wren. these little guys are quite... shall we say... "energetic"? they don't sit still for more than a couple of seconds at a time as a rule, and they tend to stay back in thickets and branches, so catching one out in the open AND sitting still was a stroke of luck! 40D, 400mm, 1/320 @ f/8...
this little guy is a common yellow-throated warbler. like the Bewick's wren, these little guys like to keep out of sight among the reeds and grasses, and it's a pretty rare occasion when they come out in the open and sit still for any length of time... 40D, 400mm, 1/160 @ f/8...
