This category can be used for special events, meet-ups, classes, workshops, photo shoots or anything else related to photography you'd like to invite forum members to.

A couple of rules to keep in mind.

1) Be specific! "I'm going shooting tomorrow, wanna go?" will still say that 6 months from now and confuse people. Please say a day and date and at least a general location. You can handle the exact details in e-mail if you want some privacy, but give enough general info so folks know what's going on and where.

2) Events can be open to anyone or to just a limited group of people. If it's limited to a certain number of folks and they need to confirm, please say so in your comments.

3) Commercial events such as workshops, seminars or studio rentals are permitted, however if there are fees involved, be sure and state that when posting.

4) "Photographer Wanted" posts are welcome. Looking for a second for that wedding or other big event? Post a message here...

5) You can post an event without it being a "meet-up". For example, if you know about an upcoming event, simply post the location, times and dates for others who may be interested. If there is a press release for the event, you may post it here. (By definition a press release grants permission to re-post)

6) Use common sense both when posting and replying. You're responsible for you're own safety. If somebody you've never met says "Meet me in a dark alley at 2 AM, and be sure to bring all your camera gear..." you might just want to reconsider that offer.

Seriously, if you feel uncomfortable about a situation then follow your instincts. Meeting in groups is a good way to start and get to know people in a non-threatening environment. is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to
