Some fireworks from the local display on the 4th. Nothing like the extravaganzas y'all get up in Seattle, but pretty nonetheless, and no smoke to cloud up the images!

Good shots. It is difficult to develop a technique for photographing fireworks when you only get to practice once a year.

Thanks, Bill! Plus the fact that I hadn't shot fireworks at all since probably 2008 or so... It's a bit easier here because of the lack of background lights; I just shot in Bulb mode, and held the shutter open for as long as the explosions were occurring. It was so dark, at ISO 100 and f/11-16, that the background stayed a nice velvet black no matter what. Harder to get the exposure just right when you have city lights getting in the way... ;)
