Nudes photos aren't permitted on this site. Images should be suitable for general audiences.
Why is that? I realize that nudes and erotic content are a very important part of photography. I also know that they can be very tastefully done, and not be offensive at all. So it's not that I object to the idea of "fine art photographs".
The issue is that I have no real way to control who would access such content if it was posted here. I want the site to be family friendly, suitable for all ages. I don't want children to able to find images their parents may object to and/or violate any laws regarding access to those images. I also want the entire site to be "safe for work" and members should be able to browse the site without concern about coming across images their co-workers and/or supervisors may find objectionable.
So why not just have a private category? Even if we make the nudes category an invitation only section, there are problems with verifying the age of folks asking for admission. How do I stop a 16 year old from pretending he's 21? I suppose it could be done using credit card payments as verification etc, but that's just way too complicated.
Also, having "adult content" on your site can result in it being barred from search engine listings. So I'm afraid that I'll have to ask that images be rated "PG" or better. Please use your best judgement on what that means. Feel free to contact me if you're unsure about an image.
