Due to the high number of keepers from my recent South Africa adventure, I split the photos up into two separate galleries on my website. I already shared the link to the Birds gallery here. Now I've added over 200 photos of other wildlife, including mammals and reptiles.
View the South Africa Wildlife gallery here. A short preview is below.
A southern giraffe at sunrise in Kruger National Park.
A male lion at MalaMala Game Reserve.
A spotted hyena pup in Kruger. My group was fortunate to spend time at a den right near the road.
A cape buffalo photographed from the overnight hide at Zimanga Game Reserve.
The highlight of my trip, the super rare and elusive aardvark, one of the "holy grail" species for a lot of African wildlife enthusiasts. In this case I was fortunate to spend three separate sessions walking with and photographing it (it was a completely wild animal, but it wasn't bothered by humans). I was on my belly shooting with a wide angle lens in this case.
