Good shots. Adult red-tails are very skittish and won't let you get close enough for good photos.

Good morning Bill.
Did you take the photos from your car? I always get frustrated up there in the Skagit area. Plenty of telephone line hawks along the roads but no where to pull over for photos.

I was leaving the Skagit Reserve and I like to take the Mann RD back to Conway. I always have my camera on the passenger seat When I saw this guy I quickly pulled over as far as I could and exited my car and started taking pictures . I know its not ideal photographing birds on power wires, But this one didn't mind me being fairly close . Any ways, back roads in the Skagit can be narrow . but little traffic. You would be surprised at what you find some times. R.J
That is an osprey. They won't be around too much longer as they begin their fall migration to Central and South America.
