    HDR done the old fashioned way, a 3 stop GND ;) I forgot to include shooting data. 16-35 at 16mm, f13, 6 secs, and the 3 stop GND.

    This looks to be the Canon equivalent of what I was using. The Nikon version is as sharp as their pro lens from 70-200, but gets softer as you get close to 300 mm. It is still very sharp after 200 mm.

    I'm sure a 40D is fine if my D3x was fine. A 1D series would probably be ok too since they are roughly the same size as my camera. How big is the 100-400, that would be what would cause an issue. They don't mention any prohibited focal lengths, just lens size. Edit: I just googled the Canon...

    Very nice, I like what you did. We used to see that view all the time, we had a house on Dungeness Bay. On a really clear day Mount Baker looks beautiful from there. We also watched all the shipping and submarines as they passed by. But my favorite part was putting down crab pots, you know...

    Think of standing in cold water this way.... If you want to get rid of a couple extra pounds. It is great for weight loss, think of how many calories you are burning off to stay warm :D

    Unfortunatley, you cant see the waterfall from the bank, you have to stand in the water if you want to catch the light just right. I'm with you though, the bank would have been the best spot normally :D

    It was right around 8 AM. I think I actually spent well over an hour in water over the time I was there. When I first got there the light was really flat, so as it turns out, I could have slept an additional hour :rolleyes:

    Landscape shooters rarely fill a memory card. You really only get two times a day and have to spend a long time working on getting 1 or 2 shots. It really helps if you like just looking at beautiful scenery, that helps pass the time for me. Thanks Judy, waders would be a bit heavy and...

    Spent over an hour standing in the cold river waiting for the light I liked. I'm not sure this will be my final image from the short trip, but it is the first I PP from this location. Landscape photography requires lots of patience and perseverance. And warm boots to put on afterwards :)...

    I almost never use a polarizer on sunny days with sky in the shot. I do use one one cloudy days, they can add quite a bit of contrast to the clouds.

    That may explain the 4 P-51's that flew over my house yesterday. Great shots, I think the sky actually makes the airplane stand out better.
