    Or you can shoot it in a single shot. No need for HDR. Remember, water is not grey, some areas should be and need to be white.

    A thousand feet elevation gain per mile is a pretty good climb. But it is a relatively short distance. Looks like the shot in the URL was a late afternoon/evening shot, so no hiking in the dark to get there for an AM shoot.

    I think that is a tarn up the Pinnacle Peak trail in the Tatoosh Range. I've been meaning to get up there..... I believe that is actually the south side of the mountain. The trail head is by Reflection Lake.
