    The owls are becoming much more vocal now that fall is here. I've heard, barred, saw-whets, a screech and saw a GHO in different locations.

    Between 12 and 13 up the little channel about 2/3 between the posts. But that was a couple days ago. Also saw a GHO, just past where the road turns at the gate to the hunting area, across the canal, but he had his back turned to me.

    I didn't know owls would go for crayfish. Great catch. Joe. Congrats on the burrowing owl, Max. I still need one of those.

    Well, I'm glad to see that owls can still be found. I was hiking in Tryon Creek and much to my surprise I found two owls. I have not been looking since the owlets fledged and thought they were well dispersed. I returned today with my camera and was able to locate one. They are well dispersed...

    My first eaglet of 2014

    I couldn't resist and had to check the eaglets out. Not the best photo, but it is a photo. The Tualatin River is growing up big and strong. He or she is growing up strong and getting to be quite big. :) Mom and Dad were nearby one near the tree as you can see and another perched not far away.
