Skokomish River from High Steel Bridge

From 400' above the Skokomish River, atop a former railroad bridge, the river looks rather puny.

    Seattle Full Moon

Thanks! Maybe some day I'll catch a grown up aircraft.:D

    Seattle Full Moon

One more. Even with SeaTac airport nearby, this was a lot harder than I thought it would be. After tracking an aircraft and realizing it would cross in front of the moon, it turned out not be a jet, or even a seaplane, just a little helicopter. Cool nonetheless.

    Seattle Full Moon

Figuring that photographing the moon in less than optimal light and location, was better than not seeing it all (likely the case for Monday and Tuesday), I headed to Manchester, across the Sound from Seattle. I arrived a little later than planned, as I was delayed herding a wayward sheep back...

    Moonrise 8/4-8/5

Nice shots indeed Steve! Interesting on the same day Mt. Rainier disappeared off the face of the earth too! I have a shot with a very blue looking sky and a big empty space where Mt. Rainier should be. It's an otherwise un-note worthy shot. Sure was a strange sky.

    Deception Falls

Do the railroad location soon. If you wait 'till it snows, you'll need snow shows. Here's what it looks like in the dead of winter from the "you don't need to cross the creek side". Love to see the falls in the snow.

    Deception Falls

Very nice Rocky! I've been past there many times, and it's always on the way to catch a train somewhere nearby (like across Deception Creek). This shot was taken about a 1/2 mile upstream.

    The Rhody on Loan

Washington State Ferry system's Rhododendron is filling in for Pierce County's Christine Anderson on the run between Steilacoom and Anderson Island. On this winter evening it's making the alternate run to Ketron Island, before heading to the dock at Steilacoom.
