    American Bittern

Beautiful shots! The only two places I have ever photographed a bittern is at the pond behind the visitor center at Nisqually and on the Skagit flats of Fir Island, both in 2009. I haven't seen one since. (both photos were taken with my trusty old Canon 40D and 400mm f56L) This was taken on...

    Birds in Nebraska and Iowa

I know what you mean. I often shoot through our kitchen window for the same reason. A real treat to see. Terry

    Birds of Edmonds, WA. 2020

They looked sharp enough to me, but too far away. If you’d had the time your 500 or 600+1.5 would have been the ticket.

Exciting to see the warbler, Bill - one of my favorites - why don't these birds wait around for us to get the right lens/camera combo?? Terry

I suggest you delete the word ‘mystery’ from finch’ Bill. It’s a Purple Finch for sure. And that’s the truth 🤓. Terry

Hmmmmm, I'm not so sure on this finch, either, Bill. But at least you got some shots today. Better than me! :(

    Very cool, Rocky! Congratulations!

    Birds of Woodway, WA 2020

Its always a delight to see the White-crowned Sparrows show up. The almost black background is a pine tree in the shadows. My favorite camera-lens combination is the Canon 5Diii and Canon 400mm f5.6L. I usually shoot wide open to blur the background.

    Birds of Edmonds, WA. 2020

Wow, Bill. You were really busy. I love that you are seeing the band-tailed pigeons. We haven't seen them for at least 4 years. Also, I think the one instantly colored 'house' finch is actually a Purple Finch. Not positive, but I think its likely. Also, I like that you are putting in the...

    Birds of Woodway, WA 2020

It's easy to take these little Chickadees for granted. Such an important part of Spring! Black-capped Chickadee in our flowering cherry Chestnut-backed Chickadee on our birdbath with yard art in the background

Beautiful image, Tom. We don't see them often here in the Puget Sound region.

A nice treat... Nashville warbler in Chehalis!

Exciting to see, Rocky! Nice work!

    Birds of Woodway, WA 2020

This is a photo log of birds in Woodway Washington, located adjacent to Puget Sound and about 15 miles north of Seattle 05/02/2020. This thread starts with photos in my yard because of the COVID 19 stay at home order in Washington State. Luckily we have many birds that show up at our feeder...

    Yost Park Owls 2016

Seems like a time warp, Bill - some of my fondest memories of our photo expeditions were right here in Edmonds at Yost Park.

Very nice, Bill. I know what you mean about hoping for that great flower/bird shot! Terry
