    Edmonds Eagles 2017-2018

Some amazing shots, Bill! Particularly given the distances and difficulties shooting the Deer Creek nest!

Birds of Plain Washington, Memorial Day Weekend 2018

Thanks, Bill. Yes Much closer - and it was treat to be able to set up the 500 and tripod and just wait for opportunities. BTW, here's one I didn't post - not a great shot, but amazing of a Common Merganser and her 19 chicks floating down the river. Two of them are on her back. I was...

Birds of Plain Washington, Memorial Day Weekend 2018

Here are a few more - including the White-headed Woodpecker, Red-naped Sapsucker, Swallow-tail butterfly (sort of a bird :) ) and Purple Finch. A great birding weekend.

Birds of Plain Washington, Memorial Day Weekend 2018

My wife and I spent four days on the shores of the Wenatchee River near Plain, Washington (West of Leavenworth). Nothing too spectacular, but we did have lots of Evening Grosbeaks, a few Spotted Sandpipers, and a few White-headed Woodpeckers. Lighting was tough, to say the least - Sunshine is...

    Eagle Talon Lock, Seabeck, WA

Impressive shot, Bob! Perfect timing - really difficult, to say the least!

    Seabeck Eagle

Wonder if the tide was too low - usually, at least in the past, the eagles were after fish trapped in the oyster beds as the tide dropped.

    Pileated woodpecker

    Super shot, Chris!

    Wildlife of Edmonds, WA. 2018

Your observations are amazing, Bill! I never imaged that an osprey would dare occupy the 'family tree'! Terry

    Edmonds Eagles 2017-2018

Super shots, Bill! I wonder if we should have a shower for the new eaglet - maybe you could host it at your place :).
  15. Terry O

    Wildlife of Edmonds, WA. 2018

Great shots of the Osprey, Bill! To get a shot of one diving this close, I think you are going to need a kayak! Terry

    Stylin' cedar waxwing

My guess is that they can control their crest - ruby-crowned and golden-crowned kinglets certainly do :) Possibly my favorite bird, Rocky. And love the shot! Terry

Nice to see all the activity, Bill. Were these all taken with your 500? Good shots! Terry

    Everett Herons

I spent the morning near the Everett boat launch with a fellow photographer. Watching the herons is not only entertaining, but rewarding, photo wise. All were taken with a Canon 5D Mark III, and a 500mm f4L lens at 1/1250s f4 and Auto ISO
