    Beautiful image, Bob. Too bad its getting so hard to get good shots thanks to the homeowners. They may have had good reason, though. BillA and I are planning a trip in early June - can you still get off the causeway onto the beach?

    A very cooperative towhee

    What really sets these photos apart, imho, are the red twigs/branches that compliment the colors of the towhee. Very nicely done, Rocky! Makes me want to get out and get some bird shots - its been awhile - too many irons in the fire~!! Terry

    I agree! But, since I shoot in RAW rapid fire shots quickly use up the buffer in my 5Diii. Once that's full, shooting stops whether I like it or not! The solution may be to shoot only in .jpg....or maybe buy a 1Dx? Terry

    Thanks to all of the water/golf courses, the Palm Desert/Palm Springs area is an oasis for birds. Here's a few of the better shots I took during the week of February 17th (my 81st) :) All shots taken with the Canon 5Diii and 400 mm f5.6L - mostly 1/1250s and low ISOs, thank to the light...

    Thanks to a 'heads up' from Bill, I managed a couple of shots, using the Canon 5Diii and 400 mm f5.6L. I later set up the 500mm f4L but of course the eagles chose to just sit there :).. It always amazes me how much larger the female is. She certainly seems to be in charge! All shots...
