Yeah, she does quality as "Wild life" :D
One new Alien Bee 800 camera left shot thru an umbrella, one reflector camera right.
Same set up with my daughters cat, Katie.
-
my first impression, brrrrrrrrr....... :) I think you captured the setting very well.
-
Let me be the first to say "welcome" and please post some shots. Everyone here is nice and helpful .

ummmm..... dude... the Skagit is not in the area of Sultan. I suspect you mean the Skykomish. :)
-
I think regardless of the effect applied that if people are in the shot then the eyes need to be well lit. In the first shot of the skate boarder his eyes are dark. There's some light and color in his eyes making it much better.
I think I'll have to play around with this idea some.

That truck is "shot" isn't it? :)
I think the HDR is good on this one, not over done at all. Composure wise I'd go for a little less space on the bottom and left side with a little more on top and right.
-
I think Sept. in general. Fall colors and better light and should still have plenty of critters around.
-
Generally good shots but there's always room for improvement.
#1 - Good lighting and capture of the look on the face. I think more depth of field so the far eye is in focus and then don't clip the top of the ears off.
#3 - Needs a tad more light on the right side of the photo and better...

This works well in B&W. I'm thinking there's a hemeroid joke in this shot too :)
-
I had to do a double take since I posted one almost like this yesterday. :) These beg for B&W and you did a nice job on this one. I would however take that thing out of the lower left corner.
-
Yeah, many of us jumped ship and landed here. :)
-
Notice the "Husky" sticker int he back window???? To me that adds to the content of the humor. :)
-
I guess that makes them "art" :)
-
While I don't really grasp the meaning behind the shoe/flower images I do find them interesting to look at. From a technical standpoint all of the images posted are really good. I do like the ones with the doll too.

Blasted google lied to me again.:) I do see that the tri-colored are not in this area so do I get partial credit? :D
-
Welllll Bob, According to allaboutbirds.org there's only a Red-winged Blackbird and no tri-colored BB, even though the red winged thing does have a yellow band as well as the red.

The buggers get all my filberts every year. They snag them before they are ready and then leave a trail between the nut tree and the cedar tree a hundred or so feet away. If they are going to pick them they should at least eat them too. The jack wagons!
-
Well there's your problem Bob. You were translating Blue Jay and these are Steller's Jays. We don't have Blue Jays in this part of the country. :)
-
I think the correct translation is "Back off, suckah!".
