    Sunrise at 14 Degrees

All three photos are taken from what is known as Tidewater Cove. Tidewater Cove is on Vancouver's waterfront trail so anywhere you can park for the trail will get you there. I recommend parking at Wintler Park and walking the half mile or so back west to the cove. To drive to the park from...

    Sunrise at 14 Degrees

With a day off today I decided to capture the fabulous sunrises I've been seeing for the last week or so. It pains me so much to have to drive to work every day looking at scenes similar to these and not be able to stop and capture them. Today was my chance to make up for that even with an...

    Moonrise 8/4-8/5

Such is the luck of a landscape photog. We are always at the whim (positive and negative) of nature.

Airplanes are off to the right a bit so they don't appear. You are very close in regards to the hills. There's one hill in particular that I'm thinking of.

    Moonrise 8/4-8/5

Last week Tuesday and Wednesday were the ideal days to shoot the moon rise. The moon was full or nearly full and rose just as the sun set providing some good light on the landscape. Or at least that was the plan. It seems mother nature had other ideas with the clouds and smoke. Still I made...

I used a B+W circular polarizer on the front of my Canon 10-22mm lens for this. The exposure was 1/2 sec @ f/14. In Lightroom all I did was tone down the haze from the waterfall mist in the background. The rest is pretty much SOOC. For the record this was before my swim.

    Ecola Vista

Nice job with a traditional Oregon Coast photo spot. No matter how many different photos I see from this location no two seem to be alike. The weather, the surf, the vegetation, and the photographer all conspire to come up with something fun to see. I'm heading to Pacific City at the first...
