Snowy Owls sighted in Oregon, too

According to this report, a Snowy Owl has been sighted as far south as Burns, OR. http://www.kgw.com/news/Oregon-biologists-puzzled-by-snowy-owl-visit-136879573.html I guess you guys up north aren't the only ones to be so lucky. :)

Mt Rainier 2011 - twelve months of the mountain

Aw shucks, do you mean to tell us... ...That there weren't any days where the mountain was completely hidden behind a typical Pacific Northwest curtain of gray? :D:D These are fine shots! For your next assignment, I'm thinking about a stop-motion sequence. Mountain in motion. Just set up...

A great deal of change for me this year: I retired, so among other things I have more time to travel and shoot photos. Here are some of the shots I selected as ones I particularly liked. If you've been around here a while, you probably remember most of these. Photographically, the year started...

My Dinner, not Yours - SEO and Harrier

Another $.02 from me I have mixed feelings about the last shot. I agree with Twick that the wing is distracting. But without it, the shot isn't much different than the third shot. In a perfect world ;) I'd have actually liked to see just a little more of the harrier - say a little bit of...

    Up Close with Short-eared Owls

From this non-expert I'm certainly not an expert in bird-in-flight photography. So my opinions might not help you win contest ribbons. ;) But you asked... These are all WAY better than I could have done. I really like the first three, and I have no problem with clipped wings when it's...
