    A 30 minute shoot in Ashland,Or today 4-11-2011

Thanks for showing Ashland, there very few times I've been down there I've only zipped on by on the freeway and never stopped in. One of these years I want to get there for to arts/theater festival they have. When shooting scenes like these where you have an overcast/broken but bright sky...

    Osprey family and some macro

Nice work. It's been tough getting out with all this lousy weather. Hey, that snake is safe for a real macro lens. lol

So if April Showers bring May Flowers, what does April Snow bring?

Brrr.... I am tired of the snow and cold. I would be happy to take temps even 5 degrees below normal for this time of year. Nice work, I also like #2 and the reflection you caught.

    Hummingbirds

Bob, I'm not sure where they have all gone. We had them like this in April and May for several years, but that picture from 2008 was the last time there have been so many. But they were not cooperating with each other, they only got to the feeder for a fraction of a second before they would...

    Hummingbirds

MIke, that would require knowing how to use Photoshop well enough to make it look real. Here's a tip I picked up on using flash on these guys after about 20 shots where they all kept scattering before the camera caught them. Set your flash to manual exposure and adjust the exposure, then wait...

    Hummingbirds

Yep, those are the rufus. So far this year I still have Annas hanging around, but once the rufus arrive I will seldom see them.

    Hummingbirds

This shot is from back in April of 2008. Haven't had them hanging around like this since then. Last year the most we saw at the feeder was 4 at a time, this year we are only up to two so far. Hopefully the action gets crazy like it was for this photo. The feeder sits right outside our...

    Sunset behind the Olympics

That's an awesome sunset and great captures. . Saw part of it while out on a reported house fire at the same time... turned out to be the sunset reflecting in the windows of the house and someone across the Twin Lakes Golf Course thought it was on fire and called 911.

Golden Eagle vs Elk - Caution, graphic nature image

Even farther down the pecking order of who eats first is the eager red tailed hawk, sitting in a tree even farther away than the bald eagle.

Golden Eagle vs Elk - Caution, graphic nature image

A few shots from a quick stop at the Oak Creek Wildlife Area as we were passing by on our way to visit our daughter who was in the hospital in Yakima. First is one of a cow elk facing down a golden on the hillside. A face to face moment in nature... The second is a golden eagle...

    flowers n' shtuff

Ugggh, I hate Life Alert. You have no idea how many times I've been sent on a call at work when someone was "just checking to see if it works".

    flowers n' shtuff

Nice group of shots. Last time I tried the "lyingonthegroundgetlowshootedness" method someone tried to start CPR on me.

    Some Victoria BC shots

I don't really gravitate towards one or the other. It depends on the subject and the lens I'm using at the time. That shot of the Empress was an interesting work. When I first took it some of those really bright lights really blew out the whole scene. Since the expsure was several seconds...

    Spring is home improvement time.

Looks like the rookery is busy, not too sure I would like the open concept though where everyeone could look into my home. Where was this?
