    crane

A Great Egret is a good find up here. :)

    killdeer BIF

    Excellent BIF shots, Rocky!

    Bald Eagle and the moon

I was out at Semiahmoo early this morning and maneuvered into position for this shot....why not?
  4. Joemeche

    tonite's "blood moon"

Very nice, Rocky. Same problem here with the haze.
  5. Joemeche

    Sharp-shinned Hawk

I was on my bike when a group of Steller's Jays alerted me to something that made stopping worthwhile. In no time, this handsome Sharpie gave me ample photo ops.
  6. Joemeche

    Wildlife of Edmonds, WA. 2015

The dark axillaries are the key....Prairie Falcon.
  7. Joemeche

    Everett osprey 9/7

    Excellent shots!

    darkness comes

    Nice light on American Border.

    Mt Shuksan monochrome

Or Rocky Adams....? Big B&W fan here and Ansel was an early inspiration for me.
  10. Joemeche

    storm light

Super mountain photograph. Really captures the essence of the high country.

    The Window

I like this shot! I've had quite a few of those "window" days up there in 38 years +. You're teased and tantalized with a quick photo op and then it's gone. Nice backyard, though...any day.

    Green Heron

Finally managed to capture the green that gives this bird its name. Just the right lighting, and a little luck, perhaps?
  13. Joemeche

    Wildlife of Edmonds, WA. 2015

My vote is for Lesser for all the diagnostics: shorter/straighter bill, longer legs, etc.

    Greater Yellowlegs

Here's one of eight GRYLs that I observed this morning at the mouth of California Creek, south of Blaine. This one's a juvenile.
  15. Joemeche

    Great Horned Owl

This was a totally unexpected find today on the Semiahmoo Spit, in the wind and rain. Totally in the open above the beach and being mobbed by crows, but he hung in there!
  16. Joemeche

    American bittern

Very nice Bittern. One of the best I've seen. Bravo!
  17. Joemeche

    Brown Creeper

No, this is a new one. The dead one is still dead. All attempts to resuscitate have failed. But, life goes on. :)
  18. Joemeche

    Brown Creeper

Creepers blend in so well with the trees they frequent that it's always fun to catch one with a different background for a change.
  19. Joemeche

    Wildlife of Edmonds, WA. 2015

    It's a juvenile Spotted Towhee.

    Barred Owls

Located two Barred Owls in Bellingham's Cornwall Park this afternoon. This male was watching/waiting for crayfish and he eventually snared one.
