    green-winged teal

Super shot and one of my favorites, too. Handsome devils.

    Wldlife of Edmonds, WA. 2014

Nice shots. Your goldeneye in flight is a Barrow's.

And here's the rest of the story....

Black and White, with a touch of gold

Shot this Common Goldeneye today and stopped down for this effect. Fun!

    It's Owl Season..... Again

Notice the different sizes of the right and left pupils. One's in sunlight, the other in shadow.

    It's Owl Season..... Again

We always have a wealth of Short-ears up here, and I like that. This one was on the Samish Flats.

    It's Owl Season..... Again

Great shots, Terry. I especially like the last one flying with the gulls. :)

    It's Owl Season..... Again

Speaking of 2012, I had the pleasure of enjoying 36 Snowies within 200 yards of my vehicle on January 10, 2012. I had a great digiscoping day with good light and yes, I stayed on the dike. They do draw a crowd. Anyone here in this photo?

    It's Owl Season..... Again

They'd be tough to find around Buffalo! :D

    It's Owl Season..... Again

Found my new friend again this morning. This is a downtown Barred Owl that is frequenting the creek between the main post office and city hall.

    Male American Widgeon

That is indeed a male American Wigeon. Nothing to CC. :)
  15. Joemeche

    Sandhill Cranes

No, the shot was not digiscoped. As you alluded, it would have been tough to pull off with all those moving parts.

    It's Owl Season..... Again

Two owls in two days, a Great Horned at the Reifel refuge and a Barred down on the creek behind the post office yesterday, as the sun was setting.

    Sandhill Cranes

Spent the day at George Reifel today and came away with what could be on my all-time favorites list. I shot several as they were incoming and outgoing but at this one instant, all four lined up rather nicely.

    Snow Buntings

We really are on the doorstep of winter with Snow Buntings showing up at Blaine and Semiahmoo. Yesterday felt like Snow Bunting weather, too! *Digiscoped

    Pileated Woodpecker

Watched this female PIWO yesterday, practically destroying an old snag on Whatcom Creek. Seems she found a motherlode of ants! It was pretty dark down in the creek but when in doubt, shoot!
