    It's Owl Season..... Again

Searching for a Great Horned that was in this same tree on Saturday at Semiahmoo....and here's what I discovered instead. Barred Owl This one was chased off by a noisy Cooper's Hawk. The water tower Peregrine watched the entire drama from his perch.

    Peregrine Falcon

I led a Washington Ornithological Society field trip into the foggy soup at Blaine and Semiahmoo yesterday. Fog can be very challenging as you know, but we did have good views of 50 species. We had a short sun break in the afternoon and located the/a water tower PEFA. *Digiscoped

an evening at Mt Baker (3)

Looks like the view from the Glacier Creek Road. Hard to get bad shots from there, especially with such a willing subject.

    Digiscoping (cont'd)

More opportunities on Wednesday to utilize the far-reaching capabilities of my camera/scope tandem. This Peregrine Falcon spent a considerable amount of time preening and stretching on the old water tower at Semiahmoo. One of four Greater Yellowlegs that were biding their time along the...

    SUPERMOON tomorrow

You can do quite well with a scope, especially one with an 80mm objective lens. There wasn't much light reflecting off this moon.

    SUPERMOON tomorrow

Sounds like the prescription for my digiscoped Mt. Baker/super moon shot.

    SUPERMOON tomorrow

Low clouds over the foothills here, so the moon was pretty high by the time it cleared the clouds. Que sera, sera....

    Sunday evening paddle

Cindy and I paddled out of Larrabee State Park yesterday as the sun was setting, and made our way south to wait for the full moon to rise over the Chuckanuts. The wind came up as the moon rose, making things a little bouncy, as evidenced by the last photo. Leaving Wildcat Cove Heavy eelgrass...

    Is this pose ok?

Nice shots. My grandpa taught me about patience, and about being quiet and letting whatever you disturbed return to what they were doing before you came in. Enjoyed the digiscoping class on Saturday so thanks to Bill for the invite and to all who attended. It was fun and, as usual, I had...

    an afternoon at Artist Point

Great shots from my backyard, Rocky! I've been going up there for 37 years and I still say WOW on every visit. It's always the same and somehow always different. Thanks for sharing.

    Bonaparte's Gulls

It must be September, since the BOGUs are coming into Semiahmoo in sizable flocks. I'm always looking closely at these since I had a Little Gull in the mix a few years ago. *Digiscoped
