Here are two shots of a full moon I took almost a year ago (5/5/12)

Equipment: 7D + 2.8/400L + 2x teleconverter, tripod mounted.

Settings: 1/500, f/8.0, ISO 200, monocrome mode + blue toning effect. I believe this technique brings out the moon better than shooting in color.

I would like to see you try it on a full moon with Mt. Rainier in the foreground like the photo you posted.
