Cookies:
We use "cookies" on this site. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a site visitor's hard drive to help us improve your access to our site and identify repeat visitors to our site. For instance, when we use a cookie to identify you, you would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. Cookies can also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our site. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information on our site. Some of our business partners may also use cookies on our site (for example, advertisers). However, we have no access to or control over these cookies.
Personal Information:
We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone. In order to fully use this website, a user must first complete the registration form. During registration a user is required to give certain information (user name, date of birth and email address). This information is used to contact you about the products/services on our site in which you have expressed interest. We do not ask for any additional personal information such as address or phone number.
Only 4 items of personal information are collected when you register:
User Name - The name you will be identified by on the forum. Chosen by you, this does not have to be your real name, but can be if you'd like.
E-mail address - The e-mail is used for menbership confirmation, password reset and optional forum notifications. We suggest using a secondary e-mail for this site and other online sites, Yahoo and Gmail are good options.
Password - Allows you to log in and use the forum features. We strongly suggest not using the same password that you use for critical sites like banking and credit cards. That is simply good practice for all websites.
Date of birth - This is equired by law for age verification. (See below)
Why do we ask for date of birth? To comply with COPPA:
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) is a law created to protect the privacy of children under 13. The Act was passed by the U.S. Congress in 1998 and took effect in April 2000. COPPA is managed by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Even though the site is free, to comply with COPPA, we still must verify that you are at least 13 before allowing you to join.
That's it. No credit card info will ever be requested, as the site is free. No home address info, phone number, where you went to school, where you work, or anything else of a personal nature. The personal information is as minimal as we can possibly make it. If it wasn't for rampant spammers, we would let anyone post to the site without registering at all.
We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization.Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email to communicate with you regarding the website. These communications include, but are not limited to, notifications of replies to your posts or photos, messages from forum staff, password reset notifications and other items of importance to your membership.
Sensitive Information Security
This website does not record any "sensitive" information. Use of the forum and photo gallery is available free of charge to all members. We will never ask you for credit card info or any type of billing information.
Since we do not collect any information of that type, there is no need for a secure area to collect or store it. In short, since we don't have that info, it can't be stolen.
