    Chambers Creek Eagle

Nice find, Deka. Are you looking for feedback regarding the crop? I don't like providing critiques unless folks are asking for it. ;) Max

    tree swallow

It's not easy getting those iridescent feathers to shine just right. Good job, Rocky. Max

    It's Owl Season..... Again

It took several attempts, but I finally tracked down Bill's owls in Yost Park this afternoon. Big thanks to Bill for his pointers! Here's a preview image. I'll post more owl pics along with a couple other critters I've photographed there in recent weeks in a separate thread soon. Max

    Belted Kingfisher

Nice series, Joe. Kingfishers are tough! Africa is the only place I've been where they're not that shy. Everywhere else it seems they're very difficult to close to without a blind. Max

    It's Owl Season..... Again

Wow, what an encounter. Sweet shots, Joe. Max

    American Dipper

Nice detail in these shots, Joe. I see them every year during my Yellowstone visits, and it's not easy getting good close shots. Max

    green heron

Nice job getting close, Rocky. When I'd take my photo classes to the Arboretum I'd always look for these, but they're really hard to find there. I've seen plenty of them in the tropics, but it would be nice to get a shot like this locally. Max

    It's Owl Season..... Again

Good stuff, Bill. I really have to try to make it over a little later in the day next time. Max

    eagle landing

The shot with the mountains in the background is a classic. Nice job, Rocky. Max

    northern harrier

Very good shots, Rocky. I find it very difficult to get these guys in photo range. Max

    Rufous in the rain

I like the straight-on view a lot. Great look at the gorget. Max

    It's Owl Season..... Again

Bill, I did finally make it to Yost yesterday (after striking out on great horned at Nisqually). No luck. I did the entire main loop while exploring many of the off-shoot trails as well. No owls spotted or heard (the latter doesn't surprise me, as they were likely napping). It was my first...

Are you tired of owls yet?

Should have, Bill. I struck out at Discovery. Tomorrow I'll head down to Nisqually to look for the great horned nest there. Maybe if I get done early I can make a detour to Yost on the way back. Max

    It's Owl Season..... Again

I'm cheating a bit. This was from my recent Costa Rica tour. One of the highlights was finding and photographing a pair of courting ferruginous pygmy owls. I'd seen, but failed to photograph this species on past trips, so it was great to finally get it in the open with a little daylight...

Are you tired of owls yet?

Lovely setting, Janice. I may have to head down to Discovery Park to see if I can track any down there later today. Max

    For The Owl Folks...

I've seen some photos of leucistic owls before. Not all white, but with some white plumage here and there. I wonder if it's something similar in this case. Max

A late afternoon of Owls and Harriers, Eide Rd, Stanwood, WA

Nice work, Terry. I've never had any luck along that road. Nice to know there's actually some action there. ;) Max

    Eagle Action at Pt. Edwards

Very nice action, both of you. Looks like a great spot. Max

    Snow Day at the Refuge

Love the three raccoons, Janice. Max
