8.26.15 American White Pelican @ TRNWR

A somewhat rare occurrence for the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge; I was fortunate enough in being there to capture a few shots, it was quite a ways out. The Pelican was also reported being seen the following morning at the refuge. Chad

    ID, Please

Thanks, everyone! You guys have some great shots of these elusive little birds. I called it a shorebird but, allaboutbirds describes the Virginia rail as a freshwater marsh bird. Nearly every photo I've seen has the bird in foliage on the ground. Do you ever see them in trees...

Virginia rail? The reddish color under the wing is throwing me off. I wonder if this is a younger bird. Chad

    Sunsets of Edmonds, WA.

Nice shots. Looks like you have some smokey haze caused by wildfires helping along the hue in these photos, no? There's quite a bit of haze here in the Portland area. Chad

    Green Heron

Great capture. Green Herons are known to be somewhat skid-dish. Your truck obviously serves as a blind. This heron looks like it's standing tall and kind of proud. Glad to see this! Any signs of the offspring? Chad

    Lynnwood osprey

I love the detail in these shots. Not a bad vantage point. Something has caught my eye in these images, Rocky. There seems to be a blueish/ purple hue, most noticeable in the sky in the top pic along with being present on the body of the osprey, in the wings on every pic. I also see it on the...

    Randy Johnson, professional photographer

I just finished watching his induction speech. Randy is a classy individual, inspiring. He also works with the USO and the Wounded Warriors Project. Truly some emotional words, great speeches today at the 2015 Baseball Hall of Fame Inductions Ceremony. I found out about his photography...

Nice work, Rocky. Different part of the region but, I've been seeing quite a bit of haze in the Portland metro area the past several days. Chad

Nice shot, Rocky. I actually captured these two shots with both a dragonfly and a lady bug yesterday... Ummm, I think your lady bug was having a better day than this one here. Chad

    Surprised me!

The images are darker on my monitor as well. I will say that it works for the coyote as a really cool effect! If it were me, I might fix it but keep this version as well! This version of the eagle pic looks really off. Did this happen through RAW processing? The coyote pic almost looks...
