the osprey youngsters are still hanging around the nest, though they're fully fledged and flying around. only one of the adults was in evidence this evening, and it stayed some distance away.

apparently it got tired of the insects buzzing around, so it left... not sure what the bugs were. they were sort of yellow, might have been hoverflies...
one of the adults was perched on a piling in the river. it apparently had no patience for paparazzi; it took off almost immediately and went to perch on another piling on the far side of the river...
