This bird's presence was so unexpected I almost didn't take the shot.
I've seen Green Herons, Pied-billed grebes and coots in the lily pads but this one had me confused.
Why would such a small bird be interested in the lily pads?
If you look very close, there are bugs on the underside...

I've wanted to go but hubby says it is a hassle to get authority to get on base to see it. I'm going to be persistent and insist that we go. ha ha ha

Rocky, there was a sign on the tank but I didn't get a shot of it. Sorry. From the looks of it, it is the entire tank. I should have taken more shots. ha ha ha
My husband and I have driven by it so many times on the interstate! We finally made a point to go in and it didn't disappoint.

At low tide, they seem to work the fish ladder pretty hard. I've never seen them take a fish larger then minnow size.

The top two shots are taken at the end of a salmon ladder so yes, faster flowing water.

I'm using the Canon 7DM2 and the Tamron 150-600mm lens.
The lens has had the firmware update.
I normally do not use the Tamron unless I have really good light but I was so excited about the jets, I just had to try. Ha ha ha
