    flowers n' shtuff

Thanks, dudes. People must think I'm crazy when they see me lying on the ground, half-contorted, camera in hand.lol. I'm sick of the gloomy, too. Yesterday was much needed. I've sent that yellow thing your way, Rocky ;)

Thanks! My clothes have the dirt stains to vouch for my lyingonthegroundgetlowshootedness :)

    Xylo

He thinks he's a mix. Jack Russel for sure, but he's unsure about the rest. His mother's owner wasn't sure who the father was ;)

    flowers n' shtuff

What an amazingly beautiful day out there today. Spring had been hiding from me. Along the Willamette River, near Pleasant Hill, I found some beautiful colors :)

    Xylo

A good friend of mine brought his new puppy, Xylo, along on our river outing this afternoon. What a cute little guy he is. I'm not great with action shots, but here is my attempt at a few :)

    Gasworks Park HDR

It's all a matter of taste. "Overdone" to some might not be enough for others. I like it. This was a great choice for HDR. I'm digging the muted tones in the city, in the HDR. It brings the focus back to the Gasworks. As opposed to the +2, where the colorful city lights are really the draw...

    Fantastic! Paradise, indeed!!!

    snipe hunting

Awesome, Rocky! A few years back, a good friend of mine was working a snipe survey in the Fern Ridge Wildlife Area. They mist-netted a few and attached radio transmitters. I was lucky enough to venture out there with him a few times and catch a few of those guys scurrying along the flats...

    abandoned house in Eugene area?

Hey Jared. I can't say that I do off the top of my head. I'll keep my eyes and ears open for you, though. Good luck.

    Nibbles

Thanks, ejones. I haven't ever seen a wild rabbit in this good of shape before, but that certainly doesn't mean he's not so. I guess I'm used to seeing the really small gray rabbits in the wild. I agree about the crop, as well. Too much dead space...I just threw these snaps up really...

    In case you give a hoot . . .

Wow. Those are fantastic being that they were hand-held at 1/6, Mike. You've a steady hand, sir. The framing is great! What a beautiful background color. Quick encounters like this really are a great test of preparedness. Every once in awhile, in a pinch, I'll still slam it into green mode if...

    In case you give a hoot . . .

Absolutely fortunate, for sure. Down here in the Willamette valley, we certainly have our share of owls, but I can't think of a local state park nearby where I'd be able to go and try to find them, specifically, with much luck. Most of my encounters with them are short glimpses of them flying...

    In case you give a hoot . . .

Beautiful shots of a beautiful bird, Janice. Deceptively ferocious predators they are. This last spring, while camped on top of Green Ridge in central Oregon, I was kept up all night by a pair. First, there was one hoot to the east. Then another to the west. This kept up all night until the wee...

    Nibbles

Needing a few more photos of growing nettles, my wife and I braved the hail and torrential rain as we scurried down a little hiking trail along the Willamette River, here in Eugene. We finally got a few sun breaks, and on our way back to the car, my wife spotted this li'l guy pokin' his head out...

    The Lady

Really really really nice photo, Tony. I love it! The 100mm macro is a beast! Everything about this photo sings to me, good sir. Love it!

    Stream of Consciousness, redux

Fantastic, Rocky. This version seems to be much brighter, and a bit more contrasty. I'm glad the print worked out so well. I'd guess that this does indeed look awesome at 24x36. Very cool. Congrats!

    A Sunshine Day

I want to run through that field and sing bluegrass tunes at the top of my lungs! Great shot :)
