My wife and I took a 3 day trip through the Enchantments, a chain of lakes in central Washington. Intent on making full use of the incredible scenery I brought along 14 pounds of camera gear. The evening we headed out of town I managed to hurt myself rolling a golf cart  (stupidity +...

That's Toleak Point, it's either a 6 or 11 mile hike depending which trailhead you access it from.
I don't use attachments, I just hotlink photos

Yep, they form around tall peaks when it's windy. Usually around Rainier it means the winds around the summit are at least 40mph and it's snowing. Nice if you're looking from the surrounding areas, not so nice if you're trying to reach the summit :)

Nice shots. Looks like the summit winds have been touching 100mph on the summit the last couple days, may see some more big lenticulars tomorrow.

I may be able to go. Headlight basin and other parts of the tenaways are really popular right now with the Larch Trees turning colors but it's a bit of a drive and will probably be a zoo. Maybe somewhere around Mt. Loop will have great color right now.

Yep, that's it. From Seattle about a 2.5 hour drive to the trailhead and maybe a 3 mile hike to the basin with moderate elevation gain.

It's a hike (although a very short one) to Headlight Basin and from what I understand you take more care in avoiding the goats than finding the goats. I'm going there in a month, expect photos if I find some cute babies :)

My wife and I are on a mission to visit every National Park in the US. We recently took a road trip from Seattle to Crater Lake, Lassen Volcanic, Yosemite and the Redwoods. Here are a few pics:

Just a few. Didn't take many photos, went at a bad time of day and got tired of the crowds quickly.
