My wife and I took a 3 day trip through the Enchantments, a chain of lakes in central Washington. Intent on making full use of the incredible scenery I brought along 14 pounds of camera gear. The evening we headed out of town I managed to hurt myself rolling a golf cart
(stupidity + alcohol) and spent a fair amount of the hike icing my face, re-bandaging, etc and I missed out on all the shots I wanted to get. The scenery was still incredible so I wanted to share a bit of what I got.
1) After about 6 miles and 4000' up the first lake was far below us and we were nearing the Enchantments themselves
2) As soon as we setup camp, a dozen or so mountain goats joined us
3) Night sky the first night
4) Goats (which aren't really goats) were back to have breakfast with us
5)
6) We spent the day walking up a nearby peak to get a better view of the lakes below
7) The entire basin is filled with lakes, ponds and streams
8)
9) Long hike out on Sunday but the scenery was amazing and changed constantly
10)
11) This was the weekend of the Perseids Meteor shower, they were amazing from up there and quite a few meteors showed up in all the timelapses
12) The main flight corridor was in the direction of most of the meteors, I may clone them all out at some point
