    Bf-109 at Paine Field

Actually I believe those were part of a flyover done for the funeral of someone who worked with the Heritage Flight Museum. As far as the sky - no polarizers here either, I think I'm just pointed more to the north in the 2 I posted and I also used the brush tool in LR2 to add a little more...

Ah good, I'm glad you made it as well. Shoot you could have shown up 20 minutes late and gotten a front row seat today. I thought it was going to rain at one point. The dead light was a real drag, but we really lucked out the last 3 Fly Days. I like the processing you used. How does it look...

    P-51 Mustang fly-free day...

Very nice Rocky!! The cloud formations were better last time IMO, but either way we sure lucked out on the weather huh? I feel sorry for all those aviation fans in Bellingham today. The club hosting that event had a post that was somewhere along the lines of, 'It's raining, but there are so...

    North Sound Nautical Pics

The windstorm pics are all taken in Mukilteo from the Lighthouse Park right near the boat launch.

Thanks guys! Steve I took the Edmonds-Kingston while sitting in line on the ferry dock. While we only missed the ferry by a dozen or so cars I was quite happy to be stopped on the dock which had a great view of the Sound and surrounding area.

Thanks again I got really lucky that day. One more red light and I would have missed the wave shot. I had enough time to get out of my truck, aim and fire. More than 50 MPH gusts were recorded during that crossing and the salt water and sand were flying. I ran back to my truck praying that I...

    North Sound Nautical Pics

OH yeah you mean my anonymous 15 minutes of fame.... LOL! Sorry for the huge copyright tag, after the original release I had people all over claiming they took these. We haven't had a good daytime windstorm since the winter of '07/08. This one is my favorite though -...

Thanks Leia! Thanks Rascal. Yeah the B&W shot of the Olympics was taken from Picnic Point in Lynnwood.

    North Sound Nautical Pics

Thanks, but I know the scenery in your area makes up for it a few times over. You likely already know about this website, but just in case - its one of the tools I use to decide if I should go down to the water for lunch or somewhere else. It can tell you what ships are coming down the...

    North Sound Nautical Pics

One of the other things I love taking pictures of is nautical scenes. I like tug boats, ships and the state ferry system. Here are some recent pics. 1) One of my favorite places to go is Mukilteo's Lighthouse Park.Taken about 4:30 pm Monday. Still trying to determine if its not level of if the...

Free Fly Days - Everett's Paine Field

Rocky, No crop on #3 except for the height, and #7, #8, & 12 have about a 20% crop. Otherwise they are un-cropped full-frame at 375mm's. They let you shoot from the edge of the taxiway. It's front row fish in a barrel man. The only thing that's too bad is that the sun is almost directly south...

Free Fly Days - Everett's Paine Field

Thanks crew! Rocky - great suggestion. I'll have to try around 1/500 to 1/800. I wouldn't want to go below 1/500 or else I think the shots will be soft, but I really like the idea of having more motion blur on the props. The FHC brochure has a great shot of the P51 on the cover and the...

Free Fly Days - Everett's Paine Field

For the past 2 weekends the Flying Heritage Collection Organization (FHC) has put on Free Fly Days to show off their impressive collection of WWII vintage aircraft. The FHC is a new member of the Everett/Mukilteo community and a most welcome one IMO. Yesterday's Free Fly Day featured a...
