went down to Scriber Creek park this afternoon, hoping perhaps to find a green heron i'd heard had been seen there. no heron, drat the luck, but the day wasn't a total loss. this cute little chickadee presented me with a nice profile shot in some pretty light... 7D, 600mm, 1/1320 @ f/6.3

across the street at the mini-park, i found an American wigeon enjoying the afternoon... 550mm, 1/400 @ f/8

I am amazed at how some species of ducks will show up at Mini Park and nowhere else. Maybe it is because park visitors feed the ducks, as American wigeons will approach very close on the grass. They stay far off and skittish in other locations such as Lake Ballinger Park and the Edmonds marsh.
