had some business in Edmonds today, so i took my camera and headed to the waterfront when i was done. ran into Bill there, and we shot and chatted for a while. no snowy owl, drat the luck, but did get some shots of scoters and female goldeneyes, along with some western grebes and a common loon that appeared intermittently off the fishing pier... 7D, 100-400 @ 400mm, various exposures...

there was a whole flock of scoters milling around...

a number of goldeneyes mixed in, but all females... must be boys' night out?

the loon spent a good deal of time underwater while we tried to guess where it'd surface next...

It was good running into you today, Rocky. I had not seen you in ages. We always give Terry a bad time that the good birds come out after he leaves. It now applies to good bird photographers as well.
