while the eagles and the harrier were my real prizes of the day on Monday, i thought these two from at Possession Beach park were worth sharing as well...
red-breasted merganser male...
a common loon - actually close enough for a worthwhile shot! he's riding pretty low in the water, but the green in his neck is clearly visible...

Great finds and shots. Female and immature red-breasted mergansers seem to out number mature males about 6:1. The shot of the common loon is outstanding. I am lucky to see a pair making a 1-2 day migratory rest stop in Edmonds once a year.
Great to see that Loon in breeding plumage - wonderful image!
