Went to Nisqually this afternoon to check on the GHO... mom was still sitting, and refused to show herself. Got some creepers and wrens and butterbutts, then stopped at Hawks Prairie on the way home. Jackpot! Found a most cooperative male gold-crowned kinglet that posed for me about 25 feet away, in the open, in great light, and gave me a good 2-3 minutes in the same place! Nemesis bird no more!
