got this little lady at Canyon Park the other day, perched on a limb across the pond... she was about 30-35 yards away, so this is a pretty heavy crop...

thanks, Chad... the background is just OOF branches - they were about 30 feet farther away than the kingfisher. there might be a little heat distortion, but given the distance involved, i doubt it.
