Timing is always the issue for me - for once I had the 7D/500mm f4L set up. These shots were taken from my office window and basically at the feeder. Fortunately some of the shots were far enough from the feeder that I didn't have to show it :)

All taken this morning (Wednesday June 4) mostly at ISO 800 and f4 and whatever shutter speed the combination allowed (in this case at the Tv setting of 1/1250s). Also exp comp -1.

The male Rufous Hummingbird doesn't stick around our area for very long so I considered myself lucky to get these shots.

Great shots. I am to rufous hummingbirds as you are to other birds: they disappear whenever I am in the area.
 
I could rent you my office for a day or two, Bill - the windows are 'L' quality and just washed :)
