Weather was nice today, so I went back to Juanita Bay this afternoon hoping to spot the rail, or the sora, with some good light. The good news is, I saw them both, within about 15 minutes of each other. The bad news is, the little bastards waited till the sun was all the way down before they came out!! So once again, shooting at slow (for birds) shutter speeds and ridiculously high ISO settings made for far less than optimal photos... nevertheless, here they are, the sora at ISO 8000 and the rail at 12,800...
One of my sources told me that you are drawing quite a flock of female birders as well as birds.
The sora and rail are trying to tell you to purchase a 5D Mk III for photos that require high ISO settings. Prices have really come down now that the 5D Mk IV is in the stores.

LOL! i have met a few gals while out shooting... it's a great way to meet new friends! As for the 5D3, alas, my budget just doesn't allow for that at the moment. in any case, I'd rather have a crop body with good high-ISO performance, than a FF... I'd hate to give up that extra "reach" from the crop factor for bird shots!
