got this shot of a young female perching on a dead branch at Canyon Park yesterday... note the deep bronze color to the upper belt - not the usual gray like you see in adults. and the rusty band is just starting to come in... i'm guessing she's one of this year's chicks, even though she's nearly adult size. 7D2, 600mm, 1/2500 @ f/8
