got a glimpse into a blackbird's nest over the weekend... the babies are just little fuzzy heads with very large mouths at this point. there were at least two in the nest, though there's only one in these photos. dad was not impressed, however, and started dive-bombing me, close enough for his wings to ruffle my hair! usually RWBBs don't bother humans... they know we won't hurt their nests or babies. this must've been a youngish one, not as familiar with people... i moved away and left his nest alone. but on the way back to the car, i stopped for another look, and he buzzed me again... who says birds don't remember??

Good shots. It is difficult enough to even find a RWB nest down in the cattails, never the less take photos of it and a baby.
