spotted this eagle yesterday at Juanita Bay Park, coming in for a landing on one of the pilings. it was about a hundred yards away, so this is pretty heavily cropped, but i like it anyway, especially the backlighting on his tail feathers... 7D, 100-400 @ 400mm, 1/250 @ f/8.

Nice! Love shooting eagles (they allow me to try bird photography without dropping 10 grand on a lens) and this is a great time of year to do it!

I think the back lighting really makes the shot.
