I was on the beach at Birch Bay SP yesterday afternoon when I heard/saw gulls and crows arguing over ownership of a fish that had washed up on the beach.
Out of nowhere came this Bald Eagle that swooped in and settled the argument, without missing a wing beat.
*Its talons are wrapped around the fish.

Nice shot, Joe! Neat story behind it too. Did you take any pictures of the event leading up to the eagle's arrival?

Thanks, Chad. I was busy at the time watching/photographing a Great Blue Heron fishing in a tidal pool. He was very accommodating and successful.

Gulls and crows may strafe and dive at eagles perched or in flight, but they know better than to try to fight with one over food.
