Birds and one chipmunk of Woodway, WA (in my front yard near the feeder)

Having a nice cloudy/misty morning made for some nice lighting conditions at my place this early afternoon (Sunday 7/21/2013). These were all taken with the Canon 7D and 500mm f4L and 1.4X tele-extender.

This first group of 5 are female Black-headed Grosbeaks, the last three being female (I think) fledglings. 7-21-2013 fm black-headed grosbeak yard_4383.JPG7-21-2013 fm black-headed grosbeak yard_4388.JPG7-21-2013 juvie fm black-headed grosbeak yard_4397.JPG7-21-2013 juvie fm black-headed grosbeak yard_4398.JPG7-21-2013 juvie fm black-headed grosbeak yard_4392.JPG

This last group of 4 were taken about the same time as the previous 5. Toward the end, the sun came out bright and basically was too harsh for good photos - ahhhh, complaining about the sunshine - sorry :(

As Bill Anderson will tell you, I don't like 'feeder' shots - but since I was trying to get a decent goldfinch shot, I had to settle for this.

Purple Finch - the sun came out and made this one difficult :)
