blue-winged teal

visited Juanita Bay again today and got a variety of stuff... most interesting was this blue-winged teal. they don't show up here very often, perhaps once or twice a year, some years not at all, but this one came in close enough to give me a shot. would like to have gotten the blue on his wings, but he didn't give me that opportunity...

Your bird whisperer powers are at work again. I have never seen a blue-winged teal.

thanks, Bill. they're not very common around here; i'd never seen one either until this afternoon!
