We have had a cold snap here the last couple of days with highs in the teens. On my way to work yesterday, I snapped this with my s95. I do like cold weather for the nice crisp air and the morning light is hard to beat!!

It's an interesting picture. I like the lines and detail in the snow and the contrast with the blue sky is striking.

Nice find and capture of the textures and shapes. I think it would be stronger done with a different crop cutting out 1/3 of the bottom of the picture, a hair below the edge of the dune on the left so it leads your eye into the frame.

I would be loosing a lot of the texture though with that crop. Not sure if that would help or hinder??

Thanks for the feed back, Ron

Great lines and color on this one! It's today's PNWPhotos.com "photo of the day" on Facebook.

My opinion? Don't touch it! You've nailed it....

As you view the image, keep in mind that when compressing a photo for the web, you can sometimes lose subtle details and textures. That's due to both the size reduction and the jpg compression. I strongly suspect that when you see an 8 x 10 print of this, those sand dune style textures at the bottom of the image will be some of the best features of the shot. That subtle and interesting texture will really add to the look and feel of the image.
