spring has sprung... the camellias are in bloom. from a local park this afternoon.... 5D2, 100-400 @ 400mm, 1/125 @ f/5.6

Are there many camillias up your way? For many years I lived in Sacramento, CA, which calls itself the Camillia City. We had two camillia bushes/trees in our front yard.

Earlier this week I saw a blooming camillia bush in Hutt Park while I was photographing the resident eagles. I assumed the bush was an invasive species.

they're quite commonly found in parks and such. this was at the garden area on the west edge of American Legion Park in north Everett. i've also seen them at parks in Bellevue, Kirkland, etc... don't know if they're native or imported, but i see them usually in park or garden settings.
