Got this common loon from the pier yesterday afternoon. The little stinker wouldn't come in closer than about a hundred yards, so this is heavily cropped, but I don't see these guys around here in breeding colors that often, so I was glad to get this...

Probably the same one that has been hanging out up and down the waterfront for the past few days. We briefly get one or two in the spring as they are passing through the area to their breeding grounds.
