i was on my way home from hanging some of my pictures in a hospital on Whidbey Island last week. and since the sun was setting, i stopped at the pass to get a few pics. i was a few minutes late for the peak, but this didn't turn out to bad IMHO...

Good shot. Several years ago my buddy and I rode our motorcycles to Whidbey Island on the longest day of the year. We stopped at Deception Pass bridge at sunset for photos and had a full moon ahead of us as we rode south to the ferry at Clinton. We both felt the ride was very special. It has become all the more special to me as he passed away this summer after hitting a deer with his motorcycle in eastern Oregon.
Nice shot, Rocky. We love going to Deception Pass and when we lived just north of Oak Harbor (just shy of three miles from the bridge) we found ourselves out there walking and taking in the sights. I have a lot of shots from a couple of different angles but, for some reason, no sunset shots.
