Most of the shots I see of pigeon guillemots are either on or in the water, or flying low above the surface. Here are some different looks, taken yesterday near the Keystone ferry dock on Whidbey Island. They appear to be nesting there, quite content to share living space with gulls, rock pigeons, and cormorants... Between the distance and the heat distortion, these aren't the sharpest shots I've taken, but I like the action...
